Six exhibitions across six towns in six months

A cultural city rises from the ashes

‘Dust’ was a local touring exhibition curated by Joyce Iwaszko and myself, taking inspiration from the Stoke-on-Trent’s City of Culture 2021 bid. A collaborative/curatorial exhibition concept derived from a joint fascination of colour and hope for the future for the Stoke-on-Trent as the City of Culture 2021.

The palette for the design identity of the bid, that informed the DUST palette theme that all artists used in their work, is drawn from the garnet and gold of the Staffordshire Hoard along with blues and greens inspired by the River Trent and Stoke-on-Trent’s Green City status. The purpose of the exhibition was to inform, inspire, highlight and promote the bid to a wider audience across the city.
